Broadwater District Cross Carnival

Last week a team of 80 Benowa High students competed at the Broadwater District Cross Carnival. I am pleased to announce that Benowa has been crowned the 2016 Overall Champion School for this event. This continues on a fine tradition for our athletes at this event- this is the 7th consecutive year Benowa has won the overall points trophy.

Can I personally give a massive shout out to all the students who competed as part of the Benowa Team. Aside from winning the overall teams trophy we had a series of amazing individual results. We now have Broadwater Age Champions in 4 age divisions and look like having a team of approximately 35 students to represent the school at the upcoming South Coast event. I will be publishing the full results for the Broadwater Carnival in the coming days but in the mean time if you know of students who competed last week give them a big congratulations.

Finally can I also say a big thank you to Cathy Reardon who was the Benowa Team Manager at the event. She also did a great job organising the students on the day at the event and ensured all students not only competed but had a fun day representing the school.

Again a big congratulations to the cross country students on this amazing result.

Thanks in advance
