Featured @ the Library

Senior students Toni and Paige have a lot to say about one of our new magazine subscriptions in the library. Both girls in Year 12 were pleased to see that ‘Bella Rae’ magazine is great for girls aged 15+, as they said, ‘it is filled with everything that girls could want’. It is a very contemporary magazine featuring articles about easy to make recipes for teens such as Nachos and Mango Salsa, hair styles that are on trend, and ‘do it yourself’ fashion that ‘bends the rules’. Other articles focus on self-development and personal strength, providing insight into strategies that facilitate independence in young women.

The interesting aspect about this magazine is that it does not include articles about celebrities and media gossip. Rather, the purpose of this magazine is to create awareness about current issues through quality, real-life stories, such as girls using their hobbies and craftwork to start small businesses and thus develop a sense of community and culture.

‘Bella Rae’ promotes critical thinking in readers, so that young women can be empowered for leadership with guidelines of integrity. Come into the library to check out this awesome new magazine for girls and be inspired!
