You may be aware of the positive cases of COVID-19 in Brisbane. Local schools within the following areas will be closed from Monday 2 August,2021.

- City of Gold Coast
- City of Ipswich
- Lockyer Valley Regional Council
- Logan City
- Moreton Bay Region
- Noosa Shire Council
- Redland City
- Scenic Rim Regional Council
- Somerset Regional Council
- Sunshine Coast Regional Council
Following advice from Queensland Health, Benowa State High school, will also be closed on Monday 2 August, 2021 and Tuesday 3 August 2021.
- Our school will be closed to the majority of students and all parents on Monday 2 August, 2021 and Tuesday 3 August, 2021.
- Broadwater Athletics has been postponed, new dates announced shortly.
- Sports Cluster Day scheduled for Wednesday 4 August, 2021 has been rescheduled for Wednesday 18 August.
Children of essential workers will still be allowed on-site and will be supervised for their online learning at school. Please consult the Queensland Health Website for the definition of ‘Essential Worker’.
Staff and all students are required to wear a facemask on the school site. Please ensure that your student, if you are an essential worker, arrives at the school gate wearing their facemask. Staff will be at school entrances to ensure that students who have a medical reason for not wearing a mask can be identified.
Parents and carers should not enter the school site during this lockdown period. Please contact the school through our administration staff on 5582 7333.
Learning at-home lessons will commence for all students from Tuesday 3 August, 2021. Your student’s subject teachers will contact your student directly via email outlining planned lesson content and curriculum information specific to your student’s subjects. A number of online platforms are available for teachers to use in online instruction. Your student’s House Group teacher will be your main point of contact during this home learning period.
All assessments scheduled during the lockdown period will be postponed. During this time, all on-site sports and extracurricular activities will be postponed.
It is important we continue to follow Queensland COVID-19 safe practices including good hygiene, physical distancing measures and any face mask requirements.
