Parents / Caregivers
We are nearing the end of a busy first term and I would like to commend students on their hard work in classes. Our administration team conducts regular walkthroughs around the school and it is a pleasure to see so many students engaged in their learning. As always, we are very thankful for your support with your child's education.
Traditionally face to face parent-teacher interviews are held in Week 3 of Term 2. This provides parents/caregivers with an opportunity to discuss the progress of their child. The Department of Education has all state schools currently working under 'Response Level 1: Covid Normal' restrictions. In reality this means that classes and most in school student activities can go ahead as per normal however there are still some restrictions in place for us as a school. Adults, including teachers still need to practice COVID-normal physical distancing (1.5 m) and this has an impact on our traditional parent-teacher evenings.
We are not holding face to face parent-teacher interviews in order to ensure the safety of our staff and parents/caregivers. Instead parents/caregivers will be able to log a request for contact with all of their child's teachers through an easy to use platform (surveymanager). Bookings open on Monday 29 March and a detailed email with instructions will be sent out next week which should make the process quick and easy for you. Bookings close on Friday 30 April (end of Week 2, Term 2) which allows you plenty of time to make a booking. Teachers will receive a copy of your request and will make contact with you during Week 3 and 4 to provide an update on your child's progress. The same system was used in 2020 and proved to be highly effective.
Please take care, the Easter break is upon us soon and we hope that you will be able to enjoy some family quality time. Our thoughts are with you if you have family overseas, we hope that you can reunite very soon!
