Regretfully, I wish to advise that our 2020 Awards Night and Year 12 Investiture Events planned for Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th February 2021 have been cancelled and money from purchased tickets will refunded back to the card from which they were purchased. Our community has been unable to support the events as we had anticipated.
As you know, our traditional format of Awards Night was to change due to the movement from QCS and OP to the External Exams and ATAR, which meant we would not know the DUX of the school until the commencement of the 2021 school year. This year has gone on to be been particularly challenging as we navigate the Government Guidelines around social distancing in venues etc.
Instead of Awards Evening, we will be creating a publication to celebrate students receiving awards and this will be provided at no cost to parents/caregivers. We will be acknowledging our award winning students on a special school based assembly and providing students with a morning tea following that assembly (details yet to be published).
We thank you for your understanding of this difficult decision regarding the cancellation of what is such an important opportunity for students to showcase their talents and be acknowledged for those talents. We will continue to plan for 2021 student achievement acknowledgements within the COVID-19 guidelines as they apply.
Parent/Caregivers who have already purchased tickets will have their money refunded as described.
