Dear Parents and Caregivers
I am writing following my advice of Wednesday, 29 April 2020 that a person associated with our school had been suspected of having coronavirus (COVID-19).
I am delighted to advise that the test results have come back negative.
As a result, I can confirm that there has been no person associated with the school that has a confirmed case of COVID-19. I will of course advise you if that situation changes.
Our school has been taking all appropriate precautions regarding health and hygiene and we will continue to follow the advice of Queensland Health in response to this significant public health issue.
We all have a role to play to help to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community. If you or any members of your household develop fever or respiratory symptoms, please see your GP and call ahead before you visit, or phone 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84).
Practise social distancing by keeping 1.5m away between you and other people whenever possible and minimise physical contact such as shaking hands.
Practise good hand hygiene and stay at home if sick. You should:
- ash your hands frequently with soap and water, especially before and after eating, and after going to the toilet
- cover coughs and sneezes, dispose of tissues immediately, and use alcohol-based hand sanitiser
- if unwell, stay at home and avoid contact with others
- exercise personal responsibility for social distancing measures by staying at least 1.5 metres away from other people.
Further up-to-date information on the symptoms of COVID-19, when to seek medical advice and prevention, can be found via Queensland Health and the Australian Department of Health.
Please look out for each other and the people most at risk of serious infection, including the elderly, people with chronic diseases, and people with compromised immune systems.
Yours sincerely
Mark Rickard
Executive Principal
