Dear Parents/Caregivers
Welcome back to Term 3 and I trust that the two weeks of holiday were a good time with family back together. We know that many of our school parents/caregivers (and many of our senior students) are still seeking to get back to work and I know we all hope to see our workplaces back to some sense of normality and re-employment as soon as possible.
Many of our important school events have been cancelled, as you know, so the resumption of sport next Wednesday is very exciting and especially with winning the 2020 House Cup as the goal. Our staff will all be assisting to bring about this event (and the selected Wednesdays that follow) as something new yet again in our school.
As industry and small business has started to come back to life, so have our traineeship and apprenticeship opportunities. These are a great addition to a student's portfolio and this week I have signed off on many such great job opportunities and just a reminder that a chance like this might really add to a student's Many Pathways ~ No Limits experience at Benowa State High School.
Important News - we are pleased to offer you the following process and arrangements for Parent/Teacher Meetings in Weeks 3 and 4 (no meetings will be conducted on the school site).
Parent/Teacher Meetings July, 2020
- Parents/Caregivers will log their request for contact through a survey program with a link being sent to parents/caregivers by next Monday afternoon. Parents/Caregivers will have from Monday, 20 July until 12pm on Friday, 24 July to log their request for contact with a teacher.
- In the survey, parents/caregivers will be provided with an alphabetical list of all teachers in the school and they will then select each teacher who they would like to contact. Parents/Caregivers will add their child's name and their email address against that teacher's name and that teacher's notification will be done.
- The school will then distribute this notification list to all teachers on Friday afternoon 24 July, so that teachers are aware which parents/caregivers have requested contact. Teachers will then use the next two weeks (Week 3 and 4) to contact and respond to parents/caregivers.
I trust that this term is another step back to a great finish to 2020.
Take care.
Mark Rickard
