The final week of Term 2 has arrived and it is now very challenging to look back at the things that you and our students have had to endure already this year. We finish the term a step closer to normal school routines and our planning for the remaining semester will focus on good student support and working on remaining gaps in learning.
A number of students have returned this term with a range of anxieties and concerns brought about by circumstances and events associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. As I have mentioned in my previous updates, we have an exceptional team of staff in our student support services program and I recommend that as the year progresses, you access this team as needed.
Our new P&C Executive is meeting soon to look at an investment in the school tuckshop of systems and equipment to help streamline the services to our large number of students. Our P&C has worked hard over the last few years to air-condition the school long before it became a state government priority with associated government funding. In the absence of this style of funding the P&C is very reliant on your family donations to the school building fund and on both the tuckshop and uniform profits. These monies come back entirely into the school for students and I would urge you to support our P&C. Meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of each month up in the large building 'W' Block and we would welcome your attendance to get your input into our school.
Please find attached the link to our annual school opinion survey. We appreciate that many hundreds of families take time each year to provide us with feedback that enables us to look at our school with an inward lense and to look at areas for improvement. Please complete the survey at your earliest convenience. Parent survey – https://survey.qed.qld.gov.au/form/Parents-HaveYourSay.aspx
I trust you enjoy having students home again and our very best wishes to everyone who is re-entering the workforce and to all of our small business owners who want to get back on track as quickly as possible, we wish you every success.
Take care everyone.
