Qualification Description
This qualification is designed for individuals who require further foundation skills development to prepare for workforce entry or vocational training pathways.
Students who complete this qualification will gain confidence in:
- A pathway to employment or vocational training
- Reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication and learning skills
- Entry level digital literacy and employability skills
Entry Requirements
A laptop to complete all assessments and demonstrate competency.
There are no other entry requirements
Duration and Location
This course is one year long. The course is delivered at Benowa SHS as part of the school timetable.

There is no cost for this course.

RTO Obligation
Benowa SHS guarantees that the student will be provided with every opportunity to complete the qualification. We do not guarantee employment upon completion of this qualification.
Students who are deemed competent in all twelve units of competency will be awarded a qualification and a record of results. If students obtain the qualification, they will gain four points towards their QCE. Students who achieve at least one unit of competency (but not the full qualification) will receive a statement of attainment.
Delivery Modes
A range of delivery modes will be used during the teaching and learning of this qualification. These include:
- Face-to-face instruction
- Work-based learning
- Guided learning
- Online training
Assessment
Assessment is competency based and completed in a simulated work place environment. Assessment techniques include: observations, folios of work, written and practical tasks, questioning and projects.
Work Placement
Students do not complete work placement for this unit of competency.
Pathways
The qualification has been developed while consulting with industry to ensure that students are ready for the workplace.
This qualification may articulate into:
- Other vocational qualifications
- Entry level into the work force.
