2023 Homestead Swimming Carnival
Our annual homestead swimming carnival will be on Monday 13 February at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre at Southport. A letter with more information was distributed during Care Class or can be downloaded from the list on the right. Please ensure that all medical information is up to date on your child’s OneSchool profile. If their medical details have changed, please use the medical form and submit to the office prior to the carnival.
Broadwater District Swimming Carnival
Should you wish to make the South Coast team for Swimming, the Broadwater District Swimming Carnival will be held on Thursday 23 February at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre. To be considered for all 50m races (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly) you need to place top 2 in your final at the Homestead swimming carnival and paperwork will be given to you after the carnival. Paper nominations are required for other distances and strokes.
For events held at the Broadwater Trials
Nominations for the following events must be supported by times that have been achieved at official swim meets and results displayed on Swimming Australia's results central website (please screenshot and attach to paper nominations). We are accepting paper nominations for the following events to be swum at the Broadwater Trials;
- 50 Metre Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke and Butterfly
- 100 Metre Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke and Butterfly
- 200 Metre Individual Medley
For events not held at the Broadwater Trials, but swum at the South Coast trials
Longer distance races (not swum at the Broadwater trials) can be nominated using paper nominations. South Coast requires an official race time from a print out from Qld Swimming Website or from their club administration from a Team Manager program within the last 12 months. It must also include the following information; Name, DOB, name of event and time. Please note - a club meet is not an official qualifying meet.
The events are:
- 200m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly
- 400m Freestyle, IM
- 800m Freestyle
- 1500m Freestyle
All nominations are due to Miss Passmore, Director of Sport, by Wednesday 15 February. Nominations can be emailed to apass27@eq.edu.au or handed in by students to Miss Passmore at her office in the Sports Hall.
