Benowa State High School has partnered with Southern Cross University to offer a groundbreaking opportunity for our Year 11 students—the chance to begin their first year of university study alongside their high school studies!
This exclusive program, the first of its kind in Queensland, is available only at Benowa SHS and SCU. Our pioneering class of 20 Redbacks are leading the way, becoming the first Queensland cohort to undertake a university diploma while still at school. Upon completing Year 12, students can matriculate directly into the second year of their chosen degree at SCU.
The pilot program offers university diploma study in:
- Engineering
- Health (Nursing, Psychological Science, Occupational Therapy, Biomedical Science, Naturopathic Studies, Osteopathic Studies, Exercise Science & Physiology)
- Community Welfare
