Pre-arrival information - airport pick up
Arrangements are made for students to be taken to their homestay accommodation on their arrival to commence a course of study. This service is provided to students free of charge. The homestay coordinator will arrange for a driver from Airlink Express to meet and greet students at the airport and have them transported to their homestays. Students should keep their passport, student visa and a pen in their hand luggage, as well as the homestay family information and contact details for the homestay coordinator. The airline staff will give the student an Australian immigration and customs declaration form as the flight nears the destination. Students should complete the form on the plane and don't be afraid to ask for help if they are unsure of the answers to any of the questions. When the student arrives in Australia they will be stopped at an immigration checkpoint and asked to hand in their passport and forms. They may be asked questions about their homestay before their passport is stamped and handed back to them. (Note: It is illegal to use a camera or phone in this area of the airport.) Once the student has passed through the immigration checks, they should collect their baggage. Look for the driver at the meeting point who will be holding a sign with the student's name on it. Students should not leave the designated meeting point for any reason until contact has been made with the driver. The driver will then take the student directly to their host family who will be ready to welcome them into their homes.
