Useful documents
The Queensland Curriculum & Assessment Authority (QCAA) is overseeing the implementation of the new senior QCE introduced this year throughout Queensland. As external exams are now an important assessment component, exam and assignment dates and requirements are rigidly stipulated to ensure equity for all students in all schools. Therefore, assessment dates cannot be moved.
Key points to note:
- Events such as family weddings and holidays are not valid reasons to miss assessments, and students and schools are not able to reschedule exams. Students will fail any particular unit of work measured by the assessment and this could jeopardise overall results.
- A student who has missed an exam due to medical reasons or misadventure is required to complete the AARA paperwork which the school will forward to the QCAA.
- Students who may miss an assessment due to medical reasons must contact the Student Support Services (07) 5582 7313 who can provide support and put measures in place.
