Research suggests that it is through the creation of engaging and developmentally-appropriate learning experiences that the students are best placed to continue the development of lifelong learning attributes, not only to facilitate their transition into Senior Secondary but ultimately into contemporary post-school society.
The now completed construction of a purpose-designed Junior Secondary Precinct has been used by Year 7 and 8 students transitioning to the school throughout 2015. The facility harnesses the benefits of natural light and breezes to match the calm and tranquillity of our school’s existing landscape. Classroom learning spaces are open and flexible, to promote the engagement and motivation needed by adolescent learners. The addition of the Junior Secondary Precinct provides students with a safe space that will further enhance Junior Secondary students’ feelings of security and social inclusion.
This inclusive and connected environment will support our students while they develop their personal identity, manage the physical and emotional demands of adolescence, and renegotiate their relationships with peers and teachers during their move from primary to secondary school.
